At this point everyone on the planet has likely been impacted in some way by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. What most would consider “normal life” has largely been disrupted over the past 6 months, either cancelled outright, put on hold, scaled back, or reformatted for our new (hopefully temporary) realities.
The Portland-based bike/media institution Filmed By Bike is no exception, but rather than shelve the festival’s 18th edition our hometown heroes rallied to reinvent it. With theaters closed and indoor gatherings of more than a handful banned in the interests of public safety, what has traditionally been a physical community gathering is being moved online in the form of a 4-day virtual festival on YouTube. The show, after all, must go on!
We ❤︎ Filmed By Bike and look forward to it every year, so much so that we’ve participated in a couple of programs with videos of our own. The 2020 interwebs edition is no exception and we are excited to have a little video of ours, created by the exceptionally talented Kevin Alfoldy, included in this year’s special program, Quarantine Films!
Please join us in doing some of our favorite things — nerding out on bike culture, watching internet videos, eating popcorn, and supporting our creative community — all at the same time!
The festival runs 9/10-9/13 and the special edition Quarantine Films program will take place on Sunday, September 13th at 7:30pm (Pacific).
